Sticky Figgy Pudding
hi guys, i'm back for now at least :p
my first recipe from food network recipes and i'm really happy with it.
You surely can't escape this.
THE STICKY FIGGY PUDDING
I love these little babies.
Surprisingly, this has been the first time i've ever made them myself. I'm sure they are just super seductive.
You are going to love this pudding, it has a rich, fantastic flavor and the sauce is amazing.
Now, let me invite you to my kitchen and show you how i prepared my version of these adorable sweet dessert.
First , Chopped dried pitted dates and dried figs.
Add the dates and figs in 2 cups of water to medium saucepan and ring to boil over medium heat.
stir in the baking soda, let cool for about 5 minutes then add to blender and puree.
Meanwhile, prepare the other ingredients. Flour, dark chocolate, sugar, butter and eggs.
Cream the butter and sugar until pale .
and add the eggs and flour, mix together well.
Pour the pureed dates into batter.
Fold in dark chocolate and mix together well.
Put the mixture into a ramekins, filling halfway or slightly under. Put in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
WARNING, tis is not for the faint of heart, It's an insanely DECADENT cake, so i suggest you share one with your sweet heart, this would be an AMAZING dessert.
You have your pudding cake on the outside and luscious creamy warm inside.
Prepare the sauce by stirring sugar , water , butter and heavy cream.

Ingredients
11/2 cups chopped dried pitted dates
1/2 cup chopped dried figs
2 cups water
1 teaspoon baking soda
100 grams (3 1/2ounces or 7tablespoon ) butter, Softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 2/1 cups self rising flour
75grams (2 1/2 ounces) dark chocolate, grated
Butter, for coating ramekins
Ice cream or whipped cream, for garnish
Caramel Sauce
1 cup sugar
6 tablespoons water
4 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup heavy cream
Direction
Preheat the oven to 350 degree F.
Add the dates and figs with water to a medium saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the baking soda. Let cool for about 5 minutes , the add to blender and puree.
Using a handmixer, cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add the eggs and beat well. Fpld in the flour, the pureed dates mixture and the chocolate.
Put the mixture into 4 ramekins, filling halfway or slightly under. Put in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Prepare the caramel sauce, putting the sugar, water and keep on stirring until the sugar dissolved and the sauce has thickened and golden brown color, and add the butter and heavy cream.
Remove the ramekins from the oven and let stand for 10 minutes. May be served in the ramekin or unmolded onto a small serving plate and top of the puddings for the sauce.
Serve pudding with or without ice cream and sauce.
